The Sivananda Yoga Centre in Munich is located in the museum quarter in the district of Schwabing, a short walk from Königsplatz and the Technical University (see map).

Spacious, bright yoga rooms and an inviting reception area are the ideal place for your yoga practice. Whether you are a newcomer to yoga, an experienced yoga practitioner or a spiritual seeker – all are welcome.

Join our international standard drop-in-class every Saturday from 4 – 5:30 pm, taught in English or bilingually.

Your first class is free of charge.

This class is for students who are already practising and would like to continue their practice on a regular basis.

Please note: there will be no drop-in-classes on sat 23rd and 30th and on sat 6th of January.

Trial class

For newcomers
If you are a newcomer to yoga, we welcome you to take part in one of our free trial classes every Saturday from 2 to 3:30 pm. Here you can experience how yoga works.
 
This is a bilingual class, taught in both English and German.
 
After the class we will be happy to support you in finding the best course or classes for your individual level.

Meditation

The key to inner peace

You are also invited to join our meditation sessions every Wednesday from 8 to 9:30 pm and every Sunday from 6 to 7:30 pm. We practice group silent meditation and mantra chanting. There will also be a short lecture on different aspects of yoga which will be translated into English.

Meditation sessions are free of charge.

Beginners courses in english

for a profound basis in yoga

This course offers:

  • yoga postures, correct breathing and proper relaxation
  • carefully guided and individually supervised
  • Learning in small groups in a relaxed atmosphere
  • The course duration is 4 weeks. For an ideal start, we recommend Yoga 1 followed by Yoga 2, after which you can join the drop-in classes.

  • Interesting online courses on yoga philosophy, anatomy, relaxation and much more
  • Two intermediate-level drop-in classes per week
  • Live yoga workshop „The Fire of Yoga“ every Saturday and Sunday with Swami Sivadasananda, Yoga Acharya
  • International guest speakers lecturing on Ayurveda, psychology, anatomy and many other yoga topics.
  • Daily group meditation: silent meditation, mantra chanting and talk – evenings 8 pm and mornings 6:30 am

International Sivananda Yoga Teachers‘ Training Course (TTC)

The goal of this four-week intensive training is to produce qualified and inspiring yoga teachers who are able to draw on their own practice and personal discipline in imparting the yoga experience to others.

Hygiene updates

Sivananda Yoga Centre Munich

The yoga room will be systematically aired.

In the yoga hall, a special air purification device ensures clean and fresh air. A combination of special filters, UV-C light irradiation and ionisation destroys viruses and filters out even the smallest particles. 

General

In case of coughing or sneezing, please leave the yoga hall and observe the generally known cough and sneeze etiquette.

Please do not come to the centre in the following cases:

  • in case of contact with COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days
  • with normal cold symptoms
  • with non-specific symptoms of illness and respiratory symptoms of any severity

Please ensure thorough hand washing with soap under running water when using the sanitary facilities.
